Manteigas presents, from a morphological point of view, three distinct units that comprise the plateau area, the Zêzere River Valley and the shale zones of the northeast. A large part of the municipality's territory is occupied by forests and uncultivated areas, and in the forested areas, maritime pine, chestnut and pseudotesuga predominate.
